Smears, bullying and harassment

We have become aware via social media that One Dulwich and other groups within the Dulwich Alliance are being blamed for acts of vandalism and harassment in and around Dulwich. The Dulwich Alliance has already put out a statement on Twitter, which we fully support. But, as One Dulwich grows ever larger (we now have more than 2,000 registered supporters), this latest round of false accusations has set us thinking. Maybe these attempts to discredit us are a sign that those in favour of the current road measures are getting worried by the strength of the opposition. If that’s the case, we’re pleased that our campaign is hitting home. At the same time, we’d like to make a plea for calm. There’s a long time to go before Cllr Rose makes her final decision in October, and mud-slinging on social media is unlikely to help democratic debate.

Meanwhile, as you will know from our regular updates (to receive campaign updates, please register support for One Dulwich), the Dulwich Review survey on the road closures is open until July 11. To read about our position on the survey, which we share with all groups within the Dulwich Alliance, please see our formal complaint to Southwark’s Director of Environment here and our FAQs here. All our leaflets, including the latest one ‘Say No to 24/7 Closures’, can be found here.
