Protest on Saturday 16 October at 12 noon
Now is the time to make our voices heard on the streets where we live and work
Southwark Council isn’t listening. We have spent months talking to our local councillors. We have sent countless emails. We have responded to all the consultations. But none of it makes any difference.
Even when their latest consultation shows that two out of every three people in the three Dulwich LTNs who responded to the survey rejected all the measures and opted for the roads to return to their original state, Southwark continues to ignore us – same scheme, with a few minor tweaks.
As we keep saying, this scheme displaces traffic on to residential roads with schools and health centres. It discriminates against those who are vulnerable. It damages local businesses. It doesn’t even meet Southwark’s own criteria, as its own analysis shows no improvement in air quality.
We are right at the end of the process now. And it’s time to show Southwark how strongly we feel.
On Saturday 16 October, there will be a protest against the Dulwich LTNs. We are calling on Southwark to respect democracy and listen to the 66% who have rejected the current Dulwich LTNs in Champion Hill, East Dulwich and Dulwich Village.
We are asking you to meet up with family, friends and neighbours in your road (wherever you live and work in the wider Dulwich area) before gathering at the central Dulwich Village/Court Lane/Calton Avenue junction at 12 noon.
If you would like to be put in touch with friends and neighbours going to the protest from your area, please email dulwichalliance@gmail.com with the name of your road.
Please spread the word via word of mouth, email, social media, texts, phone calls, and neighbourhood WhatsApp groups.
It’s time to show our councillors that they MUST LISTEN to the people they have been elected to serve.
